Federal has introduced a more affordable loading for fans of the M1A. According to a Federal spokesman, “A lot of the hunting ammunition today isn’t suitable for specialized M1A rifles. Whether it’s practicing for a competition or just spending some time at the range, these shooters need affordable loads that perform well, and the new American Eagle load caters to this special segment of shooters. We’re proud to offer them something that shoots great and is available at a price that can’t be beat.”

The American Eagle M1A 7.62x51mm load uses staked primers to reduce the risk of firearm malfunction, including slamfires, and is loaded with a match-grade 168-grain Open Tip Match (OTM) bullet. Rated muzzle velocity is 2,650 fps, muzzle energy is 2,619 ft-lbs, and MSRP for a box of 20 rounds is $20.
