Winchester Announces Win1911 Wooden Collector's Box

Winchester Ammunition is offering some extra grain  —  woodgrain, that is —  with their 230-grain .45 Auto ammo.

Winchester_Win1911_Box_FThe company has announced it will release a special wooden collector's box containing 200 rounds of its .45 Auto Win1911 ammunition, designed specifically for 1911-style pistols.

The Winchester wood box will contain either 230-grain jacketed-hollowpoint (JHP) or 230-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) bullets. It has an overall weight of 11 pounds, and measures 2.5 x 7.5 x 13.4 inches. The special edition box will have you itching for a 200-round range session with old slabsides, because it's intentionally sized to fit 1911 pistols with the ammo boxes removed.

The Win1911 Wooden Box sports both the Winchester and Win1911 logos on the top and sides of the box. It will be available at most retailers next month at a price of $129 to $139.

The box will be Winchester's Black Friday special at the following retailers:

  • Cabela's
  • Bass Pro Shops
  • Gander Mountain

  • Field & Stream
  • Academy
