The new .22 WMR Critical Defense ammunition from Hornady is designed for short-barreled revolvers, features a 45-grain Flex-Tip bullet and nickel-plated cases, and has a published muzzle velocity of 1,000 fps and a muzzle energy of 100 ft-lbs out of a 17/8-inch barrel. It is said to provide terminal performance comparable to Hornady's .380 Auto Critical Defense load. Watch for a review in a future issue.
