Designed for taking both lightweight and middleweight game, the RWS .308 ID Classic factory ammunition features a 150-grain ID bullet with two lead cores of differing hardness. The front core is designed to expand immediately on lighter game, and the rear core expands slowly, transferring energy to larger game animals. The two lead cores are enclosed by a nickel-plated jacket that becomes thicker towards the bullet's rear. The .308 150-grain ID loading is rated at 2,885 fps muzzle velocity and 2,555 fps at 100 yards.
