The new Nightforce NX8 4-32X 50mm F2 riflescope could be the only scope you’ll ever need. With its incredible eight times zoom, as the company states, this scope can handle “any shooting environment anywhere on Earth at almost any distance.”

The scope features a 30mm tube, a second focal plane reticle (you can also get it with a first focal plane reticle if you prefer), 90 MOA of elevation adjustment, and 70 MOA of windage adjustment. It has 3.5 inches of eye relief, Digillum illumination, and a ZeroStop elevation turret. It’s 13.5 inches long and weighs 28.9 ounces. Purpose-built MOAR-CF2D and MIL-CF2D reticles are offered, and they feature dual-scale calibrations (16X and 32X), floating center dot aiming points, and hashmarks on the vertical and horizontal stadia with numbers at 5-MOA intervals. If that sounds like a lot of stuff that might block your view, don’t worry; the reticle provides a clear view of the target.

My NX8 4-32X 50mm scope has the MOAR-CF2D reticle, with a 0.2-MOA center dot and 0.25-MOA click adjustment values. The scope is adjustable for parallax from 11 yards to infinity. Exit pupil on 4X is 6.7mm, and on 32X it’s 1.6mm.

I installed the NX8 4-32X scope on a special Ruger No. 1 single-shot rifle that I bought as a gift to myself on my 60th birthday a few months ago. The rifle was made in 2018, has a case-hardened receiver, and is chambered for .22 Hornet. I want to wring out every bit of accuracy I can from it shooting from the bench, and I also want to use it as a walking-around rifle for hunting varmints and predators. So I wanted a scope with a wide magnification range with as high of a top end as I could find, but I didn’t want a behemoth of a scope. The NX8 4-32X is perfect.
