Wind River Wilderness Optics has introduced two new rangefinding binoculars. The RB800 and RB800C feature an advanced laser system designed to provide instant and accurate measurement of a deer-sized animal from 13 yards to nearly 550 yards. (For inanimate objects--trees, rocks, etc.--distances can be determined from 13 yards to 875 yards.) The RB800 and RB800C are also 8X32mm roof prism binoculars. Other features include Scan Mode, which is activated by holding down the rangefinding button and provides continuous range updates; a digital display that reads in yards or meters; and multicoated lenses for clarity and contrast and maximum light transmission. For protection in the wilderness, the binoculars have a rubber armor coating and are waterproof. The units measure a compact 5.4 inches long and weigh 23 ounces. Suggested retail prices are $874.99 (RB800) and $999 (RB800C). For more information, contact Wind River Wilderness Optics.
