Winchester Military Contract

Winchester Military Contract
U.S. military awards Winchester 9mm frangible ammunition contract.

The U.S. Military has awarded Winchester Ammunition a five-year contract with a maximum value of $30 million for 9mm frangible training ammunition.

Frangible ammunition is designed specifically for training applications, and the contracted 9mm ammunition will support the Navy Surface Warfare Center. The work will be performed in East Alton, IL, and Oxford, MS, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 2014.

"Winchester's operation in East Alton, IL, manufactures more small caliber ammunition for the U.S. Military than any other private sector facility. Winchester is very pleased to be awarded this contract and the opportunity to continue our support of those preparing to defend our country," said Dick Hammett, president of Winchester Ammunition.
